A black and white ensemble is always a fashion DO! The pairing is classic, fresh and modern! “The Power Couple” is what GQ Magazine is calling these colors in their 2014 Spring Trend Report! Enough said! Keep those black and white staples handy in your closet for spring and summer! Wishing you all a stylish day! Erica

Gap Striped Twill Zip Jacket, Gap Essential Short-Sleeve Crew T, J Brand Jeans (old), J.Crew Classic Leather Ballet Flats in Spearmint, Chan Luu Necklace from Things & Fashion Winter Park (similar here), Ray Ban Mirrored Metal Aviators I was excited to see many of the fashion magazines April issues showing the best spring jackets! This particular Gap jacket had me sold! You just can not go wrong with a classic navy and white stripe! The collarless, twill jacket will pair perfectly with a plain T and bright skinnies, button-down shirt and tailored shorts or a flirty, full skirt and tank! Check out the April issue of Lucky to see some of the other options for a spring jacket! Two other styles that caught my eye were the printed denim jacket and the baseball jacket! Happy Friday! Have a stylish afternoon! Erica

Stripes, checks, plaids, polka dots and florals… I love all of these patterns! Why not mix them up? Mixing and matching graphic patterns definitely makes a statement! To keep your look clean and fresh, always use the same color scheme or have a base color. Complementary colors will make the eye flow without getting stuck on each pattern. I usually pair this skirt with a plain white t-shirt… this was much more fun!! Have a stylish day! Erica photos – spencer warlick

Classic pieces are essential for a well-built wardrobe. Do not think of these items as boring, but chic! Put your own unique twist on a classic to avoid looking too predictable. The first thing that comes to my mind when thinking of a classic is stripes. A blue/white or red/white striped top is hard to beat! Thank you to Coco Chanel for being inspired by the sailors uniforms in her seaside town of France and turning this look into a chic classic! Coco Chanel, Jean Seberg, Brigitte Bardot, Audrey Hepburn, Pablo Picasso, Jean-Paul Gaultier… all big fans of the striped top! This style is here to stay! Don’t forget to “like” Erica On Style on Facebook here to be entered in my GIVEAWAY! I will announce the winner of the Kenneth Jay Lane gold cuff at the end of the day tomorrow!
