December 2011

New Year’s Eve always has me dreaming of glamour… metallics, fur, sequins, jewel tones and black!  When choosing an ensemble, it’s fun to pick one dramatic element, whether it’s serious sparkle or a pop of color.  If you are spending your night in a cold climate, plan on staying warm in a chic way.  Add a faux fur coat if you are baring your shoulders.  If a minidress is your choice for the celebratory night, make it a long-sleeve minidress and add a pair of opaque tights. At the top of my wish list this year was the Kate Spade Portola Valley Blaine handbag… Santa delivered!  As a working mother of two, I am on the go and need a bag that can easily fit all my necessities.  I give my new bag an A+, as it is already filled with diapers, toys, books, iPad and even a pair of ballet flats.  I love the grey taupe color. Grey is a neutral so it can be matched with most every other color! I am a huge fan of Kate Spade handbags for many reasons!  One of them being that they offer many options with little or no hardware.  Personally, that is what I prefer.  The minimal hardware on this bag is 14-carat light gold plated, which looks great with both silver and gold jewelry. The black opaque tight has been a wardrobe staple since the 1960’s, when minidresses and Edie Sedgwick became popular.  They are the perfect accessory making your legs look longer and slimmer!  I wear them with shorts, skirts and dresses.  If you are looking to dress up a more casual look, choose an open weave like fishnets or lace.  In this case, I wanted to add color to my ensemble of black and grey.  Sweater tights are another great choice.  I…
